Sespe Hot Springs, 4/30-5/1

A quick weekend with friends; Michael, Adan, and Rob of BPL.  Up the Sespe River from Piedras Blancas, about 18 miles of rolling hills and meadows in to the Sespe Hot Springs.

Cliff diving, water flowing, breeze in the face, an idyllic walk.  Grasses alive and lush at this time, quail coveys spooking in explosion every half mile.  Silence and good conversation with good people.  Easy days in the backcountry, a perfect weather window, this area soon to be scorched and parched.

The hot springs were more like warm springs, but did the job nonetheless; drinking whiskey in the water, watching meteors, laughs all around.

Going in.

Looking back on the Sespe River.

Don't mess with a man with a snakeskin headband (Adan).

Morning at the oasis camp.

Grasses and breeze.

Going home.

Thanks guys, it was a great couple of days.

Craig, I just saw this post! Good times, I had a blast. Thanks for the pics, I had forgotten my camera and I had a hard time trying to describe how bad ass our oasis camp really was. Hope all is well with you, brother, and with Adan (hardcore guy that he is) as well. And I hope Michael is doing well in his travels, as I think he has left by now?
